Financial Risk Officer – International Development

Full time – based Central Bath

Starting salary: £27,000 – £33,500 + benefits + potential study package

Our fiduciary risk team seeks to ensure that the international aid funds we manage are used for the intended purposes, achieve value for money and are properly accounted for. Due to growth and successes, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Risk Officer to join our team.

So, what will you be doing? As an FRO you will work closely with the Fiduciary Risk Manager and the grant management teams of the UK Aid Direct fund to complete audit and due diligence on prospective grantees, analysis of the financial reporting and forecasts of grant holders, and work to prevent and investigate fraud across the portfolio. Ideally Part Qualified or QBE, you will utilise your risk management and audit skills to ensure that the financial management of grants is in keeping with acceptable standards.

You will need to have:
• Strong experience in risk management, due diligence, audit or financial management ideally from a Practice or risk environment
• Educated to degree level or possess Part/Fully Qualified status with ACCA/ACA/CIMA or CiPFA
• Excellent commercial acumen, strong communication skills and experienced in proposal writing
• A team player who can thrive in a fast-moving and growing organisation with the ability to work to deadlines and across different cultures
• An interest in international development and be respectful of civil society groups who work on challenging subjects
