New Vacancy – Grants Performance Manager – UK Aid Direct


Based Central Bath, South West England

Starting salary £27,000 – £33,500 + benefits


UK Aid Direct is a £150 million programme managed by a consortium of partners led by MannionDaniels, that is changing the lives of over 11 million of the world’s poorest people with UK aid from the UK Government. Performance and Risk Managers provide a focal point to coordinate the technical, financial and operational performance for each grant holder, taking responsibility for the performance and risk oversight of the grant management process. PRMs work closely with the Grants team to ensure grants move efficiently through the grant management cycle and to coordinate technical assistance for grantees.


  • You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of grants from grant set up through to grant closure, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and using best practice performance management methodologies to achieve positive results.
  • You will need to develop a clear understanding of the portfolio of grants so that you can prepare reports, evaluate performance and monitor technical and financial compliance. You will need to identify technical issues preventing effective delivery to grantees, and collaborate with the technical team to resolve issues, coordinating inputs on technical assistance.
  • The role also involved overseeing the review process, coordinating input from partners, quality assurance and working with the technical team and partners to develop an action plan where necessary. This involves some development and review of fund management tools in consultation with other relevant programme staff that will draw from existing best practice in grant management


  • Ideal applicants will have at least 5 years experience working within a grant performance or project management role in an international development setting, and qualified to at least degree level in International Development, International Relations or related field.
  • Good knowledge of international development, international aid, public health, human rights or social policy will need to be demonstrated, as well as excellent client and relationship management skills
  • Some experience of working with DFID and knowledge of processes and procedures would be advantageous.


This is a UK based position reporting to the Deputy Fund Director UK Aid Direct and is based in our Bath office. Occasional international and national travel may be required.  This is a full time position and requests for flexible working arrangements will be considered.

Salary and package

  • Starting salary range: £27,000 – £33,500 (band 5)
