Practice area

Health systems and public health

MannionDaniels provides technical assistance across all aspects of health systems development and public health. We work with national and sub-national government partners often in fragile and conflict-affected countries. Working in collaboration with key stakeholders we evaluate approaches and find solutions to improve the policy environment, health outcomes and promote the transition to Universal Health Coverage.

Working with both government and civil society organisations we aim to strengthen capacity and resilience, support inclusive systems and ensure transparency and accountability across the public and private health sectors.

Topic areas:

  • Health sector reform
  • Leadership and governance
  • Strategic planning, budgeting and accountability
  • Performance frameworks, monitoring, evaluation and learning
  • Resilient and inclusive health service delivery
  • Communicable and non-communicable disease prevention and control
  • Neglected tropical diseases.

Case study: Strengthening leadership, management and coordination of immunisation teams in Somalia

Our ongoing work in Somalia, funded by Gavi, is providing support to the Somali Health Authorities and the teams delivering immunisation programmes across Somalia. After conducting a capacity assessment, our team has worked collaboratively with individuals at national, regional and district levels to allow them to maximise their roles. This means they are able to identify and use data for decision-making more effectively and develop relevant annual workplans and budgets.
