MannionDaniels was appointed as the Fund Manager for GSMA’s Mobile for Humanitarian (M4H) Innovation Fund. The fund supports organisations that leverage digital technology, especially mobile, to deliver solutions which anticipate potential humanitarian impacts and enable effective early response. Each funding round has a different humanitarian specific focus and targets both for-profit and not-for-profit organisations working in low- and middle-income countries.

Our role

We’re supporting the GSMA team in the management of the fund, from the point of applications to grant close out. Our role includes:

  • Delivering each funding round
  • Overseeing the technical review process to select projects for funding
  • Undertaking due diligence on organisations applying to the fund
  • Conducting fiduciary risk and financial management throughout the grant lifecycle.

Our approach

We will work closely with GSMA, bringing our experience and insight to support them to deliver efficient and effective funding rounds. These will target applicants delivering robust and innovative digital solutions in the humanitarian space.

Using our experience of fund management, and our strong and tested approach to due diligence, we aim to ensure that fiduciary risk is carefully managed and that a supportive financial management approach is taken with grantees to ensure they have the capacity and capability to action their grant in the intended way.
